launched in 2007, Suffolk Arts+Sciences has gained traction in the university community and recognition at the national level
My primary assignment at Suffolk University when I began in 2006 was to create a magazine for the College of Arts and Sciences and to connect with the College’s alumni.
Starting from scratch, I worked with the dean and colleagues in the dean’s office to conceptualize the scope and shape of the publication.
I wrote a Request for Proposals in search of a designer for the start-up, and from the bids, selected an award-winning magazine designer to serve as the creative director for the project. Each year we build on the preceding issue, refining and expanding where necessary.
I’ve also developed a marketing platform to support the magazine and increase visibility and readership.
I maintain a high standard of quality with the magazine, working with inspired photographers, the best writers I can find, and a gifted designer. To date, the first two issues have won a dozen national publishing awards for design and editorial excellence.
