Washington, DC, June 12, 2009–The Association of Educational Publishers (AEP), the nonprofit member organization serving the educational resource community, named Suffolk Arts+Sciences JOURNEY as the winner in two categories of its annual Beacon and Distinguished Achievement Awards competitions.
One of the largest and longest-running recognition programs in the industry, the AEP Awards give credit to the organizations who are leading the way in the field of educational resources and set benchmarks to which the rest of the industry can aspire.
In the category of Higher Education Materials, AEP awarded “JOURNEY” with the 2009 Beacon Award.
In the category of Periodicals Design, Whole Publication, Adult, AEP awarded “JOURNEY” with the 2009 Distinguished Achievement Award.
The program’s Distinguished Achievement Awards (DAAs) pit the year’s top education products against one another according to entry category, subject, and grade level. The DAAs are evaluated on traits such as efficacy, usability, and overall educational value and are judged by an expert panel of educators, editors, designers, and technology specialists.
