As a writer at the Education Alliance at Brown University, and as a freelancer, I’ve co-written numerous articles for Principal Leadership magazine, published by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
Equity in the Classroom, co-written with Joe DiMartino, president of the Center for Secondary School Redesign (CSSR), describes strategies schools can use to create a culture of fairness for all students regarding opportunity, access, and respect for diverse learning styles.
Leadership at School: How to Get the Job Done, co-written with Joe DiMartino, looks at a variety of leadership qualities shared by effective school principals and illustrates different approaches for achieving leadership goals with successful case studies.
Strategies for Successful Personalization, co-written with Joe DiMartino, describes the importance of personalized learning in high schools, often considered a soft skill but one that has the greatest chance of helping a school meet the requirements of No Child Left Behind, as the measure of success for a school is based on demonstrating that each student meets standards, and the only way to measure up against that yardstick is to pay close attention to each student.
